Bulldog Bites

      from the elementary school

_______________________________________________________

Week of October 2-6

  • Next week is Fire Safety Week.  The first grade students will be taking a trip to the Fire Station on Monday, Oct. 9.  On Friday, Oct. 13 we will have a Fire & Rescue visit at 9:00.  This is an opportunity for students to tour fire and rescue vehicles.

  • Thank you WBES families for helping us with our new, before school procedure.  It is very helpful that you are pulling up as close to the front door as possible to prevent a bottleneck at the curve by the playground.

  • Health Screening days this school year will be November 2-3 from 8:40-11:30 both days. This will consist of a hearing screening and vision screening. We are privileged to have speech and language pathology students from UW-Whitewater assisting us with our hearing screening again this year.  I am looking for 2-3 parent volunteers to help with our vision screening this year. If you are available and willing to help, please contact the office at 245-5571.

  • The SCA, School Community Association, will be hosting a Family Bingo Night on Friday, October 20 from 6:30-7:30 in the elementary cafeteria.  Please join the SCA for this fun family event.  There will be prizes, a raffle, and an opportunity to purchase water and candy for $1.00 each.

  • Questions about Taher Lunch Program should be directed to Cathie Gudino at 262-245-6224.

  • Save Box Tops - There are sheets available to help collect Box Tops or just send your box tops in a bag.  The first collection is due Oct 20th. Stay tuned for exciting news regarding BoxTop class contests and prizes to the top class and top student.

  • REMEMBER TO BUY A CALENDAR RAFFLE and enjoy the fun - The SCA (School and Community Association) is having a calendar raffle as a fundraiser this year. The way it works is you buy a calendar for $10 that has a raffle number on it. Then every month the SCA will draw 2-3 raffle numbers for cash prizes ranging from $50-$200, depending on the month. The raffle number on the calendar you buy is good for all 12 monthly drawings so you don't have to buy one each month. You can buy multiple calendars if you'd like. The calendars are available in both the elementary and high school office. Proceeds from this and other fundraisers help to support different school activities and programs such as field trips, classroom supplies, and other school-related things. Please consider buying a calendar to help support our schools (and maybe win some money!). Please contact Brett Oxley (oxleybrett@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

  • The WBES Student Handbook is available on the Williams Bay Elementary School Website: http://images.pcmac.org/SiSFiles/Schools/WI/WilliamsBaySD/WilliamsBayElementary/Uploads/Forms/2017-18_Elementary_Student_Handbook.pdf

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Nov. 14 and Nov. 16 from 3:45-7:15.  Please go to the Williams Bay Elementary School Website and click on the Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling under “News & Events”.  You can also click on the following link: https://tinyurl.com/WBES-Conferences  Select the tab that represents the grade/department of the teacher you want to locate.  Follow the instructions on the page.  It is helpful to include your child’s name on the sign-up.
