Bulldog Bites

      from the elementary school

Week of October 9-13

  • Theatre Rood will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 17 & 18.  Please remember to adjust your route if you are a frequent traveler on Theatre Road.

  • School pictures were sent home this week.  If you want to have your child retake the picture, you need to send the pictures back to school.  Picture retakes and classroom group pictures will be on Tuesday, October 24.

  • On October 31 we will have a Halloween Parade beginning in the school at 2:15.  The students will parade through the elementary, middle and high school before traveling out the doors by the fitness center to parade around the school.  Parents are welcome to enjoy the parade outside at about 2:30.  Students will then continue the parade back into the school.  Please send costumes that are easy to put on.  In order to keep the students safe while on parade please avoid masks and pretend weapons.  We also prefer that you save the face make-up for your evening Halloween fun.

  • Health Screening days this school year will be November 2-3 from 8:40-11:30 both days. This will consist of a hearing screening and vision screening. We are privileged to have speech and language pathology students from UW-Whitewater assisting us with our hearing screening again this year.  I am looking for 2-3 parent volunteers to help with our vision screening this year. If you are available and willing to help, please contact the office at 245-5571.

  • The SCA, School Community Association, Family Bingo Night has been changed to Friday, November 10 due to the family event at Kishwauketoe Nature Center.  Please join the SCA for this fun family event from 6:30-7:30 in the elementary cafeteria.  There will be prizes, a raffle, and an opportunity to purchase water and candy for $1.00 each.

  • Questions about Taher Lunch Program should be directed to Cathie Gudino at 262-245-6224.

  • Save Box Tops - There are sheets available to help collect Box Tops or just send your box tops in a bag.  The first collection is due Oct 20th. Stay tuned for exciting news regarding BoxTop class contests and prizes to the top class and top student.

  • REMEMBER TO BUY A CALENDAR RAFFLE and enjoy the fun - The SCA (School and Community Association) is having a calendar raffle as a fundraiser this year. The way it works is you buy a calendar for $10 that has a raffle number on it. Then every month the SCA will draw 2-3 raffle numbers for cash prizes ranging from $50-$200, depending on the month. The raffle number on the calendar you buy is good for all 12 monthly drawings so you don't have to buy one each month. You can buy multiple calendars if you'd like. The calendars are available in both the elementary and high school office. Proceeds from this and other fundraisers help to support different school activities and programs such as field trips, classroom supplies, and other school-related things. Please consider buying a calendar to help support our schools (and maybe win some money!). Please contact Brett Oxley ( if you have any questions.

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Nov. 14 and Nov. 16 from 3:45-7:15.  If you have not signed up for a time please go to the Williams Bay Elementary School Website and click on the Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling under “News & Events”.  You can also click on the following link:  Select the tab that represents the grade/department of the teacher you want to locate.  Follow the instructions on the page.  It is helpful to include your child’s name on the sign-up.
