Week of February 26-March 2

  • Thank you for your generous donations to the WBES Student Council food drive for the Elkhorn Area Food Pantry during the month of February.  

  • On the days in which there is inclement weather and the students line up inside the building, we would appreciate the help of parents to say goodbye to your students and exit the building once a staff member is available to supervise.

  • School Safety Steps:  As we are planning for our practice intruder drills later this month we have a new safety measure that will be in effect beginning Monday, March 5.  All parents/visitors who wish to enter the building MUST sign in and wear a badge indicating that we are aware of your presence in the building.  Any visitor seen in the building without a badge will be escorted to the office.  

    • All staff members will be required to wear an identification badge

    • All HS students volunteering in the elementary school will be required to wear a volunteer badge.

    • “Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers” is a resource that was provided this week in the email with this "Bites" to assist families and teachers help children feel safe.

  • We will be showing the movie “Wonder” during Read Day tomorrow, Friday, March 2.  This movie is rated PG.  If you do not want your child to watch “Wonder” on Read Day please contact your child’s teacher and we will engage your child in an alternate activity. If your child has a light blue “Choose Kind” t-shirt from last year’s community activities, please encourage your child to wear it.  New students are welcome to wear a light blue shirt if they are interested.  

  • Williams Bay Elementary School will host 4K screening on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9.  Children who will be four years old on or before September 1, 2018 are eligible for 4K/P.A.W.S. attendance.  All Parents/guardians will be required to provide a certified copy of their child’s birth certificate.  

  • Williams Bay SCA is hosting a Family Skate Night on Thursday, March 15 from 5:30-8:00 at TraXside Skating located at 637 South Kane St in Burlington.  Admission is only $6 which includes a food combo.  A flyer will be sent home next week. Families must present the flyer at the admins soon window.

  • WBES school will be taking an all school field trip to see “The Wiz” on Thursday, March 22.  All students who participate will need to bring a sack lunch to school for a school picnic when we return from the play.  Hot lunch will not be available when we return from the play.

  • The 5th and 6th grade performance of Mary Poppins Jr. will be on March 22 & 23 at 7:00 in the elementary gym.

  • Tues. Mar. 6: Pasta with Meat Sauce OR Turkey Sandwich
  • Wed. Mar. 7: Cheeseburger OR Chicken Patty
  • Thurs. Mar. 8: Chicken Pot Pie OR Salisbury Steak
  • Fri. Mar. 9: Fish Sticks OR Chicken Nuggets
